**LET'EM EAT CHAOS**

“What are we supposed to do—how do we wake up?… We are sleeping so deeply, nothing reaches us… If we don’t face it, it won’t go away… And yet tonight is the night of storms…”

Many voices, music, dance, text one night, one storm. It is 4:18 a.m.
Torn between fears, longings, and social pressure, they cannot find sleep: people who question, search, discover, recognize, and share. It is an attempt to create connection in the midst of a chaotic world. Every step we take together brings us closer to one another.

A theatrical moment about loneliness, longing, community, and the question: How much chaos does it take to become human again?

With its new in-house production, monsun.theater invites audiences to a celebration of empathy, while also marking its 45th anniversary.

The performance rights for the German translation “Sollen sie doch Chaos fressen” (translated by Johanna Davids) of Let Them Eat Chaos by Kae Tempest (rights: Domino Publishing Company Ltd., London) are held by Suhrkamp Theater Verlag, Berlin.

A production by monsun.theater in cooperation with SZENE 2WEI, funded by the Hamburg Ministry of Culture and Media.

“In Hüsges’ staging, for which William Sánchez H. created the choreography, the hope for community in uncertain times, suggested in Tempest’s poem—remains vague, fragile, and almost coincidental. It is at risk and requires constant commitment from everyone to counteract isolation. It has become a demanding evening in which many elements come together: the enigmatic spoken texts, innovative compositions, immersive singing, two dance ensembles of amateurs and professionals, powerful percussion, and a choreography that seemed to drive people randomly through the night. Many impressions linger in the end. This work becomes a reflection of a fragmented world, made up of individuals, problems, and questions that resist a single, unified answer.”
